Maybe in a world full of peace and beauty, we’d read next to a dancing candle flame, turning the pages of dusty backed leather books. We’d crush rose petals in our fingers and let the tickle of butterfly wings brush our cheeks. We’d tie ribbons in our hair, and stroke the fur of our four legged friends.
Alas, photography gives us these moments. The moments that we can dream up, and capture to keep close to our hearts.
If you know me personally, you likely know that this is an incredibly “me” shoot. I live for beautiful little vintage pieces, flowers (all of these were taken out of my own garden), candles and, of course, our little Koda mascot. Finding individuality within the photography world is devastatingly hard at times. It seems that once an idea is put out there, there are thousands of copies. While we all know why the copies exist (simply, people love them), it’s important to find your own beat and put out something that as unique as possible. Not every idea is original, of course. We all take ideas and blend and interpret them our own ways, but not just running with what is “popular” or “on trend” is what gives me life. I don’t ever expect to be everyone’s cup of tea, and I’m okay with that. I’m not a photographer that looks to take overly grown up images of my high school clients and to turn them into someone they’re not, for the sake of popularity. I hope to capture each of my clients in their own unique beauty, and in styled shoots, to create what calls to my soul.
To date, this is likely one of my favorite styled shoots I’ve done with my high school rep team. It speaks to me, but I think the girls loved the theme. I’m SO PROUD of the outfits these girls put together, because they truly brought the inspiration to life. Brynn said it best- “I feel like Blair Waldorf”. If you’ve seen Gossip Girl, you know we hit the nail on the head.
I’ll put the chatting on hold, so you can time the time to scroll through this lovely shoot!
Thank you to each of my girls- Hannah, Brynn, Grace, Madi and Emma for pulling this off SO wonderfully. And to each of their parents that helped and made this possible as well! The Britt Rep Team is closed for the year, but I am taking on high school senior portrait sessions!
Brittingham Photography is located in Orting, Washington and specializes in natural High School Senior portraits. If you’re interested in a Washington State Capital Senior Session, please visit my Contact page! Thank you for stopping by to read my little blog!
