In early spring, while we were ogling the puffy cotton candy cherry trees, I realized (yet again) that I missed my opportunity to snag a few photos. Hoping that we could sneak in at the last moment, I met up with sweet Hannah and her amazing mom at our gorgeouuuus state capital. Can I repeat- GORGEOUS state capital. I feel like to most Washingtonian’s, the state capital is just there. Or a place to protest in front of. But really, how many of us visit it and actually absorb what a stunning and ornate structure it is? Surrounding the capital grounds are equally lovely gardens and flowers- copious amounts of rhododendrons (our state flower, peeps), daffodils, heather, camellias, etc. The cherry blossoms may have been finished for the season, but we weren’t left wanting.
When Hannah showed up, looking like a lovely flower petal herself, I was so excited to start our session. A tickle of a wind tousled her hair, the sun surprisingly warm. Bees danced around the blooms and state employees buzzed around our shots, smiling and saying their hellos. I’m always so grateful to work with amazing young ladies like Hannah. I love these young women that are kind souls, with large dreams. I also love how committed her mom is in making these shoots such a fun experience for her! You’ll see more of Hannah through the next year as a Britt Team Rep at Graham Kapowsin High School in Graham.
